What Meet Arna is
Meet Arna is a voice assistant for Android with an animated character. You speak to her in plain language — or type — and she answers out loud, lip-syncing every word, and carries out what you asked. She is a hands-free way to run the small errands of your day without unlocking your phone and opening five apps.
What people use her for, spoken out loud:
- “What’s the score in the Lions game?” — she searches the web and reads the answer back.
- “Do I need a jacket today?” — she checks the local forecast.
- “Play something mellow.” — she starts music on Spotify.
- “Dim the lights.” — she sets Philips Hue scenes.
- “What do you think of this photo?” — she looks at an image you attach and describes it.
- “Draw me a corgi in a spacesuit.” — she sketches it on the spot (Premium, five a day).
- “Play trivia.” — she deals topic cards and quizzes you five questions at a time, keeping score.
- “What’s on my calendar today?” — she manages your schedule, described below.
Why Meet Arna asks for Google Calendar access. Managing your day by voice is one of the main reasons people use the app, and it is the only feature that needs your Google Account. Connecting Google Calendar is optional and the rest of the app works fully without it. When you do connect it, these four things are the entirety of what the app does with your calendar:
- “What’s on my calendar today?” or “Am I free Friday?” — reads the events in your primary calendar for the next 48 hours and reads the agenda back to you out loud.
- Reminders — reads those same upcoming events so she can give you a heads-up 15 minutes before something starts, spoken if you have the app open, or as a notification if it is closed.
- “Put dinner with Kate on Friday at 7.” — creates that event on your calendar.
- “Move my 3 o’clock to 4.” — updates the time of an existing event.
That is why the app requests the calendar.events permission: it needs to
both read the events you already have and write the ones you ask her to make. It does
not create, delete, or share calendars, and it does not touch Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or
anything else in your Google Account. Event data is fetched by your phone directly from
Google and stays on your phone. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which deletes
the stored access from your device. Full details are in the

Is Meet Arna free?
Yes — the app is free on Google Play. The free app includes her face and standard voice, web and weather answers, her on-phone memory, Spotify, Philips Hue lights, and optional Google Calendar. Arna Premium is an optional subscription for her premium voice, Receptionist mode, and drawings.
What does Arna Premium include?
Unlimited premium voice, Receptionist mode, 5 drawings a day with no image key, and every new premium ability as it releases. It costs $12.99 a month or $94.99 a year, billed by Google Play — cancel anytime.
Where does her memory of me live?
On your phone — not our servers. Open her memory constellation to read or delete anything she has kept. App updates never reset her memory.
Does she need my Google Account?
No. The only feature that uses your Google Account is Google Calendar, and connecting it is optional. If you do connect it, she only reads your upcoming events and creates or moves the ones you ask for — she never touches Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or anything else.
What is Receptionist mode?
A Premium feature that turns the phone into a front desk. She greets each visitor, asks the intake questions you wrote, and emails you a summary of every visit. While it’s armed, her settings lock behind your owner PIN so visitors only see the interview.
Can she draw?
Yes. Premium includes 5 drawings a day with nothing to set up — just ask. If you have your own image key, you can add it in settings and draw without the daily cap.
Does she play games?
Say “play trivia.” She deals topic cards, quizzes you five questions at a time, keeps score, and reacts to every answer.
How do I cancel or restore my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling keeps Premium until the end of the period you paid for. On a new phone, tap Restore in her settings to bring an active subscription over.
When is the iPhone version coming?
It’s in development. The Android app is on Google Play today.
